Flowers From Linda's Garden

As soon as Linda saw the Flowers From My Garden quilt in Quilter's Bazaar, she knew it was going to be her next project. Linda has been coming along to UFO sessions on alternate Friday mornings (with me - Lorraine) to learn how to applique using the freezer-paper needleturn technique.

It was intuition alright. Linda has really found her zone in applique... (I imagine that she chose applique for the same reason some people HAVE to try waterskiing, and it turns out they are naturally good at it, just like Linda and applique). The first few blocks were quite tame.. now Linda is doing a LOT of fussy-cutting to place the flowers and leaves on printed fabrics from her stash.

Can you see how she has placed the leaf veins and flower centres?

It all started with this block - I suggested fussy-cut placement of the urn...

And the rest is history...

We are all waiting with baited breath to see how it finishes up Linda.
