Pretty Penelope quilt kit

Lorraine loved these Lakehouse fabrics so much, it was easy to design a quilt to showcase the stunning prints.

Featuring metallic "champagne" (it's not quite silver, not quite gold) on the black rose blocks, and border print and also with French-inspired prints, this quilt will last a lifetime!

Make Pretty Penelope for a 12 year old, and she will love it until she is 112.

Timeless, dateless fabrics.

Designed for a single bed or to go across a queen bed under the pillows.

Stocks are strictly limited. $118 plus postage.

Introducing...

Introducing the new pattern by Make It Perfect - The Shearwater Kaftan!!

It's got just the right combination of floaty and fitted, and can be adjusted to 2 different lengths.
Cheryl couldn't wait to make this top for herself.. and here she is... buying the pattern one day, and wearing the finished top on the next day!

Cheryl used some of the fantastic Bali prints we've got on the bolt. (I will show you some of those later...).
Thanks for sharing with us Cheryl, I can't wait to make a few myself!

Baby Love

These little shoes just danced their way into the shop!

I made the shoes using the okiniri pattern pictured above. The kit comes with the pattern and the kit to make the little green shoes. Templates are included for three sizes: small, medium and large. Click here to purchase the pattern and kit for the shoes.

I used the strawberry print from the Meadowsweet range so I could match the fabric to make a hat.

I made this hat using the Lazy Day Hat pattern by Australian designer Toni Coward.

Civil War Homefront by Barbara Brackman

Oh, thank you Barbara Brackman for designing this collection: Civil War Homefront.

This is the softest, prettiest collection of 1800s fabrics that I have seen in a long time.. I just had to buy them all..

With depth and interest in the prints I know you will fall in love with them too.

I can imagine a frock straight out of "Little Women" in each and every one of these prints.

Tiny Tailors...

This absolutely gorgeous panel just arrived!! Based on the children's book "Tiny Tailors", printed on the fabric are instructions to turn it into a soft book. (Soft books don't tear and are completely drool-proof... and they can be washed!).

Strictly limited stocks - we won't be able to get this in again...

Don't you want to teach a little one how to count with this??

I love book panels - they are so much quicker to make than baby quilts. Perfect when you are pressed for time.

Click here to buy this panel before they sell out.

Hot off the press!

Just in time for Christmas - it's the new book by Australian author Margaret A. Rowe.

Have you read her first book "The Maria Challenge Quilt"?

Fiction written about quilters and their lives, intertwined with real history. (The quilt guild guest speaker tells the story about of the work of Elizabeth Fry on a convict ship as she taught the women and girls to sew and quilt so they wouldn't have to sell their bodies when their prison time was through.)

The novels are self-published and self-promoted, so you may not have heard of these books yet.

We welcome the second novel by Margaret "The Elizabeth Challenge Quilt". Four friends who share a love of patchwork and quilting continue their quilting journey through life, and are challenged again by their Quilt group to create a quilt following certain rules. Their challenge stems from the story of Australia's first lady - Elizabeth Macarthyr and the birth of the wool industry.

Loads of new goodies!!

We went to Quilt Market last weekend and ordered some exciting new products!!

These ones arrived already!!

Raspberry Cream has the cutest little stitcheries on it, just in time for Christmas. Four little images: owls hanging their stockings on their nests, jolly Santa, skipping Angel, and an inquisitive reindeer.

You could use these stitcheries to make a swag or make the wallhanging as pictured above.

Sublime Season is another new Christmas design from Cinderberry stitches. It has the four calling birds, three french hens, two calling birds and a partridge in a pear tree - it's all birds! (I just LOOOVE birds in quilts). Stay tuned for more birds in quilty things... LOL!!

Some shops might run this as a block of the month - you get all the patterns in one pack for only $30 (that's cheap as block of the month patterns go)....

Hmmmm. .... I wonder if I can make these in time for Christmas.. oh well, I can do it for next year. LOL!!

Carolyn's got it wrapped

Carolyn made this fabulous skirt using the Make It Perfect pattern "Versatile Wrap".

I've had the pattern and some fabric in my "to make" bundles for a while now, but I just haven't managed to do it yet...

This skirt is great for Summer (it's a wrap-around skirt), or you can wear it over jeans or pants to brighten up your Winter wardrobe.

We've added quite a few of this Australian designers patterns to our website.

My favourites are sure to become yours too...

We've had so many new patterns arrive that I am busting to tell you about!
This one is for teddybear collectors: Vintage Bears by The Freckles Collection. It features vintage teddy bears and their development over time. I'm not particularly fond of the fabrics chosen in this pattern. What would you do?
This one is titled Quiltmakers. All the stages of quiltmaking by these cute little mice. One of these stitcheries would look cute on a sewing apron. A sewing apron would keep all those little threads from sticking to your polar fleece clothes!! LOL!!
I would like to make this for a special friend - titled The Friendship Quilt it says "Quilting brings friends together". Too cute!!
I want to make the Sleepover bag to take on retreats. Just think, if I can squeeze clean underwear and PJs in here, there will be a lot more room in the car for sewing stuff!!
Leon the Lion is one of my absolute favourites in the Melly and Me series. I will have to make him. My other favourites are Magoo the monkey, Rudy the Reindeer and Mrs Perkins the giraffe.

EMOtional Anna and SeBATsian would make the perfect gift for someone who is a little unusual. Inspired by the emo look - notice the black hair, dark clothes and unusual eye makeup.

French Kiss - I love this pattern. The applique in the centre is optional, instructions are also included for an applique-free quilt. We stock the Mill House Inn Honey Bun to make this quilt.

Creme Fraiche is another new one from Fig Tree Quilts. I prefer the colour option shown in the bottom corner.

I keep finding new goodies that I think I can't do without!! I couldn't keep the blog up to date with everything new coming in, please visit our website or pop into the shop to see more of my favourites, that are sure to become yours too.
