Mini madness!!

I have so much show and tell to share!!

These are Rhonda's mini quilts so far - don't they look great together? Only another three to go Rhonda!! (I think Rhonda will be quilting these before too much longer...)

Elizabeth's applique "sprouts" (as she calls them) have grown in this Spring weather...
Have you seen Fiona's little collection lately? Here are three of them.

Rhonda was a little worried about using the green diagonal print in this mini quilt. She needn't have worried. It really adds zing and texture!!

Look at these! Almost three finished mini quilts from last month's class. I love looking at the difference with everyone's fabric choices.
Rhonda's latest finishes....

Did you see this one by Fiona? Love the border treatment!! You can't beat stripes for borders...

Elizabeth has made a start on one quilt. All hand-pieced, she has cut out every shape and pinned them onto a cloth just for carrying the pieces around.

Wow! I am feeling motivated. (I still have 2 quilts to make, then quilting to go).

Group hug

These mini quilts were lazily hanging around.. ready for a group photo... so here we go!!

In this year's miniature quilt club, we are making one mini quilt top each month (nine quilts in twelve months gives you a little holiday too...).

I have chosen the patterns for next year's mini quilts. What do you think? Would you like to join us? Leave a comment, or email, or phone or drop in to express your interest (secure your place early).
I think I had better finish this year's quilts first!! LOL!!

Mini magics

Fiona caught up on her monthly miniature homework. This is her latest finish. This is her favourite mini so far. I am sure it will become the centre of the large quilt she plans to make with when she finishes all nine mini quilts.Rosie has progressed. This is the centre of her latest miniature. Elizabeth also improved. She has started to stitch the stems on!!
And this last one is some more of Fiona's catching up. This was last month's homework. Fiona made 12 blocks instead of eight, as she just couldn't settle for the layout as it was.

Good on you ladies! We look forward to seeing Linda's homework next time...

A first for Rhonda

This is Rhonda's first completed miniature quilt top. What an achievement! Would you believe she started making quilts just over one year ago? I am so proud of you Rhonda.
Just wait till I have you quilting them!!

Mini, Mini, Mini

Wow! Look at all these miniature quilts! Rosie has caught up with her homework well and truly...The top one reminds me of confetti - these 1800s fabrics look very clear and bright. Here are Rosie's 4 finished quilts together - how fantastic!!

I can't wait to see the next one too Rosie. Five more to go - we are learning miniature quilts in class once a month. Would you like to join our next programme?

She has another 5 to finish. This is Linda's latest miniature quilt. I just love the way all four little quilts look when they are together. This is Rosie's previous month's homework. More mini quilts!

Each group (night group and day group) have both attended 2 Mini quilt classes now. We are building our skills in consecutive months. As you can see, some people have chosen a more co-ordinated look than others.

Each quilt top measures 16 inches x 20 inches at the moment.

Some participants plan to join all 9 little quilts into one large bed quilt.

I just love the way a little quilt is special all on its own.
You might think a little quilt won't take long to make, but it takes about the same amount of time to make as the same number of blocks in a big quilt.

Definitely worthwhile, and inspiring for us all!
Would you like to make these quilts too?

Mini Quilts show and tell

We've been having such fun making some of Lori Smith's little quilts from the pattern series "Fat Quarter Quilting".
Here are a few pieces of show and tell. These finished quilt tops measure only 16 inches x 20 inches.

I am so proud of all participants! Perhaps we will have more finished next time to show you...
