Carol's UFO sessions
Jan (pictured left) started to make her beginner sampler with Carol (pictured right)... until she became sidetracked by the French Braid quilt. (Luckily, Carol teaches both UFO sessions and beginner classes for the quilting novice)...
This quilt definitely needs to be professionally quilted. It will hang down the sides of the queen bed, that's for sure.
The colourstream fabric (changing from purple to fuschia to pink) is available in store.
We just received some new batik strip packs (2.5inch strips) perfect for making French braids like this quilt.
It is a truly ginormous quilt. I just can't fit in the entire quilt in shop space for a photo.

Strip quilt
Jenni bought a strip pack (similar to a Jelly Roll TM) in Japanese indigo fabrics in our store. Actually, she used 2 packs and joined them to make this stunning quilt.
Thanks for sharing with us.
Jenni quilted it herself - the first very big quilt she quilted on her domestic machine.
We are proud of you Jenni. (Look at the back too!!)
Thanks for sharing with us.

Elise and her first quilt top.
Elise used the Recipe For Friendship fabrics from a Jelly Roll to make her first quilt top. Elise looks so happy, she could easily be addicted!! Congratulations Elise, thanks for sharing with us.

Jean's windmills
We can't decide whether this is Jean's first or second quilt! I think it will be the first one she has finished, although she is nearing the end of her beginner's quilt class!!
Jean and I joked that this photo was a little like Foo peering over the wall. I will always think of this quilt with the name Le Fou now... I wonder what Jean will name it.
The pattern is from this book Strip Crazy. Somehow when I was taking this photo, the camera has focussed on the carpet instead of the book!! I only noticed it on this screen - it's too small to notice on the digital camera!! Anyway, the book is full of patterns for using with jelly rolls.

Here is a photo of the original quilt.
Jean has already added the borders, and is ready to hand it over to Wilma for quilting - just as soon as she has shown it to "the teacher" in her class on Monday!! Jean says she wants to be "teacher's pet". Jean is planning her next quilt already. A born quilter! Who would have thought she would stumble upon making quilts when she popped in not even 3 months ago!!

Sue's jelly roll quilt
Sue used the "Cranberry Wishes" jelly roll to make this quilt. Doesn't the white fabric look striking?
Sue and her sister Linda like to come and sew on alternate Friday nights in our U.F.O. classes. Sue doesn't really need the classes, but it means Linda can come and get some help while Sue sews her little fingers off, has a pleasant quilty chat, and leaves feeling inspired and having inspired others!!
Now Sue has inspired even more people!!
Sue is now working on a quilt using a "Collections for a cause" layer cake. I can't wait to see how it turns out!!
