Aloha... it's been a while

Hello, or Aloha.

It's been a while since I last posted - we have so much to show and tell.

Thank you for visiting us at the Melton Willows Exhibition, at the Spa Quilters Exhibition in Daylesford, at Sunbury Stitchers and Quilters Exhibition and at Essendon Day and Essendon Night meetings.

I think you can see why I haven't had time to post to the blog!! Nonetheless, I will try to catch up over the next couple of days.

Aloha is a special range of fabrics - it co-ordinates with both 1800s fabrics and batiks. Rich green and purples and beige blenders.. Mmm... delicious. It looks even better in person!!

Sue's braids

Sue is loving her French Braid quilt!! She started making the braids here in class, and was encouraged to use the leftover strips to add strips across the top and bottom. Can you see the way the braids change direction? I look forward to seeing your quilt with borders Sue.

Sue used a green Rainbow pack. We've got lots of Rainbows in store - they are not on the website as the colours in the packs continually change.

Alice is coming...

Lorraine's Alice in Wonderland quilt is coming along....

Don't the prints look rich and full of vintage colour once they are framed?

Sue just finished this really sweet quilt in redwork. It is a Bronwyn Hayes pattern from the book Cotton Country Quilt.

Sue is positively addicted to stitchery now!! Thanks for sharing with us Sue. Your quilt is gorgeous.

It's a finished "Joy Of Life" incorporating her own colours.... She attended a free class each month with this Block of the Month to learn the applique, piecing and joining the blocks...

Gerrie's quilt

This quilt top as made by Gerrie for her granddaughter (I wonder what her name is).

Oh, it's so stunning. Thank you for bringing it in to show us Gerrie. We love to see your finished projects. Especially when we helped select the fabrics.

If this isn't enough to get you mad about French Braids, you just don't get it... VBG.

Another great Annie class.

We've got some great show and tell from Annie's cutting and ironing compendium class. (Some of these are still clamped while the glue dries).

It's always a popular class - this time two ladies travelled from Barham NSW especially to attend the session!! (They sound as keen as I am when I really want to make something)...

Another participant attended class for the second time - this time she madeit for a gift. Oh yes, she could have made it at home (she has the pattern from last time)... but why give up the opportunity to socialise with new friends in a warm environment... there is always something so exciting about making a new project isn't there???

It's well worth making. Aside from choosing the finished look of your folder, a pre-made A3 sized cutting and ironing compendium retails for around $150.

You could say it's even worth attending twice!!
