Cotton Country Quilt

Marg brought in her "chickens" quilt to show us. Well.. it does also have other animals and country scenes in the redwork. (See Bronwyn Hayes' book "Cotton Country Quilt" for details.

We are all very proud of Marg, she has come such a long way in just over a year...

She stitched the redwork, then pieced the quilt, and machine quilted it herself. This really is all her own work.

Fire engine hat

Belinda made the Lazy Day Hat for her son from the Tugger fabrics,and he just won't take it off! He loves fire engines amost as much as he loves his Mummy.

He even wears it to bed, and pulls it down over his face like this.

Joshua's brother and sister play with him and take his hat.

Trying to break the habit...

Linda is trying to break the habit of including butterflies in all her quilts. But when you see this quilt, why should she even try???

Linda used 6mm pre-made black bias tape to cover the edges of this jigsaw design.

What a great way to use a varied assortment of fabrics!!

With encouragement, Linda free-motion quilted this herself. It's just the right size to start on, and the quilt back had large butterflies on it (what a surprise!) - Linda just outlined the butterflies on the back with her quilting, and didn't need to do any quilt marking.

Thanks for sharing Linda, I know we all feel inspired.

Who is that?

Who is that peeking from behind her quilt? It's Maylene! She has learnt how to machine quilt (straight lines so far) on Friday evening UFO sessions.Check out the back!!

Hand and machine quilted...

Cheryl hand-quilted this panel to death... just about literally.... The back looks fantastic! You really get the idea where wholecloth quilts came from just by looking at this. This is the front of the panel - that's all it is. A panel with lots of quilting (Hmm... now I am thinking about that Animal Alphabet Games panel some more)...

This sweet little quilt in 1930s greens was machine quilted by Deep Creek Quilting (can you see the strawberry design) . But do you think Cheryl looks less than happy? No way!

Just like most of us, we can't do everything by hand, and still finish lots of things....

We just love panels - don't you?

This one goes with the Cherish Nature fabric range. The bird eggs are really calling to me... I have to make something with these fabrics - maybe a bag? An apron? A ruler organiser?

New panels for quick and easy quilts...

These new panels just arrived in store.... Both Paddington and Animal Alphabet Games are large panels each measuring approx. 90cm x 110cm.

You could quilt them as they are, for a quick cot quilt or play-mat... OR you could cut up the Animal Alphabet panel to make a soft book OR put borders around each image to make a bed quilt.
