UFO sessions - where you can learn just about anything!!
Gabbie brought in a quilt (only the second quilt she has made) that she wants to machine quilt.
She really just thought she needed a few pointers on stippling. Well, guess again! Lorraine showed her how to "really" baste a quilt for machine quilting (especially dense quilting).
Then Lorraine showed some other "fill" stitches other than stipple (which can be quite difficult for beginners to obtain smooth curves of even sizes). This fill stitch was perfect for Gabbie. She could backtrack, stop at pointy bits, and get of a corner she had sewn herself into. As you can see the quilting looks fabulous.
Would you like to learn machine quilting? Take as much time as you need to. See our UFO classes in the class schedule at the sidebar for more details.
This is Rosemary's completed quilt-as-you-go Christmas tablerunner. It is fabulous! Now she wants to make another one for use all year round!!
Don't worry, we will run the class again in term 2.
