Wow! Alison joined us to make this quilt in the Jo's Little Women Club programme last year.
What a great way to use up your leftovers! Love the back too Alison!

Little Women Update
These little baskets were made in the last Jo's Little Women Club session for the year. Each basket will be one of 9 in small quilts.
Each block was made by a different person for their own quilt. The finished size of the block is only 4 inches.

Little Quilts Club
A quick update on Heather's latest Jo's Little Women Club quilt. It is coming together and she will get there. I would like to see the flying geese in the same blue tones as the sawtooth border.

Next year we will be running a different Little Quilts Club.
Here is a sneak peek at one of the 9 quilts we will make next year.

One lesson per month = one little quilt per month. Each quilt measures 16" x 20". What do you do with the small quilts? Apart from hanging them on the wall, stay tuned. I will show you!!

Little Women's business
Latest update on the Little Women Club quilts. This is how the quilts should look so far.
This pupil needed a little nudge with the applique (after missing the applique class)..but we sorted it out, and won't this look stunning?

Another pupil up to date...

I love viewing the same layout in different fabrics. I find it fascinating!

Haven't they all chosen well with the fabrics in the outer triangles?

There is another story with this one... the participant cut the original applique block too small, and after she appliqued half of it, she realised her mistake and re-made the centre for class.

In retrospect, I would have added an extra border... but is it worth unpicking this to replace the original centre? We will let Heather decide what she wants to do.
We are all looking forward to seeing the Little Quilts in the next series of Jo's Little Women's Club quilts.

Jo's Little Women Club
We have been running Jo's Little Women Club in store and online.
What is it? In store participants purchase a stack of 25 Jo Morton reproduction fabric fat quarters. Then, for only $5 each month they attend a class and receive the next pattern in the Club series.
Do you remember the strippy quilts made in the first month? These applique blocks are the centre of the medallion quilt.
Judy and Allison finished their "homework" in time, using only Jo Morton prints and went into the draw for a $25 gift voucher.

Jo's Little Women Club day group
Di loved making this Little Quilt as part of Jo's Little Women Club. She had finished the top within a week!! It's great to do some little projects now and then, and achieve a few "finishes".
Judy's quilt is fresh and spritely - made using the Lucinda's Needle range.

Judi used the chrome yellow to great effect. The vertical bars really work in this strippy quilt.
Isn't this a great study into the effects of different colour placement in quilts? These quilts are made from fat quarters (including the back and the binding!!).

Di has her quilt hanging at home.

This month we started to applique the centre of the medallion quilt. I can't wait for next month's show and tell!!

Jo's Little Women Club
Jo's Little Women Club part 9 is currently running in the store. Participants purchase a stack of Jo Morton fat quarters (1800s era fabrics designed by Jo Morton) for $125, then for only $5 each month they come along to a class where we start a Little Quilt.
Jo Morton designs Little Quilts, so we have the name "Jo's Little Women Club".
The Club runs for 6 months. During that time, participants attend 6 classes and receive 6 patterns. This is Jo Morton's 9th series, although this is our first time. In this series there are 2 little quilts and 1 little-ish medallion that is in 4 installments.
Here are the night group's versions of the first installment - the "patriotic strippy quilt".

Wow! Tracee, this is definitely a patriotic quilt!

Elizabeth hasn't quite finished her quilt top yet, and Sandra is completing her Little Quilts in Queensland, we patiently await her photos while she moves house.
You too can join Jo's Little Women Club online, no matter whereyou live. We would love to see pictures of your little quilts!!
