Civil War Homefront by Barbara Brackman
Oh, thank you Barbara Brackman for designing this collection: Civil War Homefront.
This is the softest, prettiest collection of 1800s fabrics that I have seen in a long time.. I just had to buy them all..

If quilts could talk...
If quilts could talk, this one would say "When I grow up I want to be a biiiig quilt".
And it will be, when Sally has finished it.
Sally joined us this year in the "Welcome To The North Pole" class which took place in 4 sessions over 5 months.
Each participant has their own copy of the book, and made the quilt in strips that could quilted and joined in the quilt-as-you-go style.
We can't wait to see more of the participants' finished quilts. Thank you Sally.
Merry Christmas everyone!

Memory quilt
Lesley made this quilt for her son's birthday.
Lesley used the Surf City fabric to make a quilt incorporating her son's love of surfing and fishing.
She printed fabrics onto the Inkjet fabric that goes through your printer, and is then soft and washable -perfect to incorporate into quilts.

What a fantastic quilt...
I especially love the label which says "If you don't like your present, can I have it?". LOL!!
I don't think you will be getting the quilt back Lesley!

Dear Santa...
Dear Santa,
I have been very good this year. Would you please bring me a little bit of each of these?
It's over 100 bolts of new fabric at Quilter's Bazaar!!
Thank you.... and Happy Christmas...

Flowers From Linda's Garden
As soon as Linda saw the Flowers From My Garden quilt in Quilter's Bazaar, she knew it was going to be her next project. Linda has been coming along to UFO sessions on alternate Friday mornings (with me - Lorraine) to learn how to applique using the freezer-paper needleturn technique.
It was intuition alright. Linda has really found her zone in applique... (I imagine that she chose applique for the same reason some people HAVE to try waterskiing, and it turns out they are naturally good at it, just like Linda and applique). The first few blocks were quite tame.. now Linda is doing a LOT of fussy-cutting to place the flowers and leaves on printed fabrics from her stash.

UFO classes
Trish came along to our UFO (Unfinished Objects) class as she needed tutor assistance to make this bag she bought in a kit.
Next thing you know, it's made in only 2 days... (she got most of it made in class, it was easy to make, but hard to understand the instructions if you are a beginner)...
Trish used the new bag batting currently in stock. It's flexible, but holds it shape beautifully. Look at it sit up. It's also in the handles.
We now run 5 UFO sessions per week... Carol or Lorraine will assist you to finish the projects you need help with, or just want to be motivated to finish.
Our new class list will be on the side bar before Christmas.

Squeaker's Quilt
Wilma and Helen made this quilt in a hurry for a Christmas gift for Wilma's daughter's friend.
(Aren't Mum's always doing that? "Mum can you please make a baby quilt for my friend xxx")
This one's a winner. It's made from the Things That Move panel - we've only got one of those panels left...
Thanks for the show and tell girls..

This is Cheryl's Countdown To Christmas...
The colours are minty fresh! - so striking.. the black stitches really stand out on the fresh almost-white numbers.

Humpty
The moment Jean bought the latest Australian "Homespun" magazine (The Kids Issue) with this Humpty Dumpty pattern in it, her brain started working overtime...
Her fingers had to keep up.. and would you believe it? Here he is...
Humpty is waiting for shoes and a hat.. He's so cute.
Thank you for inspiring us Jean. I've got my magazine put away for a later time...

Christmas Star workshop
Here are some of the table centrepieces made in Andrea's Christmas table-centre class.
Dee made her centrepiece using the Wintergraphix II range of fabrics.
She learnt fussy-cutting techniques to place the poinsettias and the pine cones. What a stunning table-centre this will be.
Rosemary made hers using fabric from her stash.... but this was a week ago.. and she has already made another one for a present!!
Marion used Sherry Berry Holiday fabrics... Her fussy cutting is beautifully executed (i.e. nice and fussy). I couldn't resist photographing her fingers in this pose... aren't they cute?

Midge, Maisy and Fergus
Midge made this little baby quilt using the "What Are You Doing Maisy?" book panel.
This panel sold so fast, it was barely hung on the wall!! Good on you Midge for getting in fast!
I love the special section on the quilt top where Fergus' name has been inserted...
Thanks for sharing with us Midge.

The latest by Sandi Henderson
Fresh for Summer - the latest fabric by Sandi Henderson has arrived in store.
Meadowsweet by Sandi Henderson.
You will recognise her as the designer of the "Portobello Pixie" clothing patterns, and the creator of the "Farmer's Market" fabric range.
Sandi's fabrics are also favoured by the Australian designer of the Make It Perfect clothing patterns. They would be gorgeous to make bags, quilts and of course softies such as the Melly and Me patterns.
I especially like this last one pictured here - it reminds me of the pattern on a daggy lunchbox, but it would make a great skirt!
