I became completely addicted to making book covers before last Christmas... I made about 10 of them, and gave lots away. I only kept a few for myself!! (Click here to see my book covers).
I followed the general instructions described in this pattern.

We held the class last Saturday - ($25 for the class included the cost of the pattern) - what a good deal!!
While we didn't decorate our journal covers in the same way as Janelle did (pictured above), the participants all learned how to mark and machine quilt in a cross-hatch design, plus 2 of them learned how to add bindings with mitred corners.
Yvonne brought her gorgeous original Singer featherweight (tres chic, black and shiny), so she quilted this without a walking foot!
The cherry fabric has a spot that glitters in the light. Can you see it?
Sylvia couldn't make it to the class on the day, and she had already bought everything to make her book cover!!
This was an excellent idea, as Sam has recently started doing stitcheries, and she wanted to quilt and bind them to make small wallhangings.
Good on you girls! I am proud of you all!!

Yvonne's cherries book cover is destined to be a recipe book cover, I wonder what the others will be used for - a journal, a book for noting scrapbooking ideas, a photo album or ???
